So glad to finally read about Western States here in Substack. I ran WSER last year and have been writing about it a lot since then. Just left an incredibly deep mark on my life. /So excited to follow this years race this weekend!
Hi Sarah, I'll be volunteering at Lyon's Ridge, and crewing for a friend. I've been really enjoying your writing and feeling so much in common with you. I'd love to meet you at the finish on Sunday morning - I'll keep a look out for you!
Will do! If you can think of anyway to help me find you let me know:) I'll be setting up a tent, and will be in a white Mazda. Samir Shah - I'm mostly helping coordinate his pacers, my boyfriend will be pacing him the last 22 miles.
Wow, all that lightning stuff was fascinating and frightening. Makes me grateful there's not much lightning here in Israel, definitely not during the dry summer season, and certainly not the mountain variety...
I feel like I'm a part of this... and I'm as far from it as I could possibly be, or ever will be... this newsletter is one of the rare glimpses I get into knowing I missed so much because running and endurance weren't my sports. Thank you for such great writing.
