Ben and I keep talking about doing an "order of operations hike list" this year based on what'll be open and when. I see a lot of weekend trips to Phil's World in my future this year 😂
You should also check out Norwood’s Thunder Rd trail system for hiking/biking! Should be dry now. Norwood at 7500 feet is like a different world, gorgeous green.
I know that feeling of having a go-to trail. I have one myself, I call it Milk Thistle Hill, it overlooks the Elah Valley in Israel, the place where David fought Goliath. (I wrote about it here: https://thehealthyjew.substack.com/p/milk-thistle-hill.)
One advantage I find of having a regular route is that it helps be mindful with running, because I don't need to decide which way to go every minute. Familiarity fosters presence.
Oh thank you Sarah! I had no idea how many words who come from just one weekend...A LOT! :) I'm so happy to get it out on paper and into the world. Take good care. I hope you gain something from reading it.
“The trail needs to bake a bit longer..” perfect!

Love that suggestion - been wanting to go to Mesa Rose in person for awhile now too so that lines up!
