That was amazing. Great job Risho. Thanks for the reminders on enjoying the present moment. Thank you to the blind runner for the reminder to open my senses and not be afraid of falling. Thank you Sarah for sharing your adventures and for continuing to inspire.
There was another gentleman right behind us that was running his first ultra post chemo/radiation too. Had neuropathy and even balance issues, but was still out there “learning to run in his new body” as he put it. Heartbreaking how many lives are affected by cancer. Really happy to read Sheena had a great follow up scan, and her and her husband could celebrate.
I love this. I have a 12-year-old nephew on the spectrum who seems to be a natural athlete and I believe could gain confidence and go far in this with the right direction. I’m heartened to read about your mentorship.
Such a great story! I hope you get to keep running with Risho - sounds like the relationship has been positive for both of you. Btw, did you know special ed is the field Zoe is preparing to go into? She’s been working for four years in occupational therapy with children, many of whom are on the autism spectrum. She finds it incredibly rewarding, and I can see why!
Ok now I’m crying! What an inspirational story. I’ve worked in Special Education for years and the take away was always that these students gave me so much more than I gave them. I see you get it too!!

Blue, thank you always for reading and leaving thoughtful comments!
What a story. Thank you. Always stop to watch the ducks!
Really heartwarming story. Great job Risho!!!
Side note, I was also fortunate enough to share a few early miles with Sheena at The Bear this year. Glad she got her finish.
Thanks for reading, and that is great you got to meet Sheena also.
