Glad to hear training is going well. I've always wanted to try a running camp. I love the idea of them, but it makes me feel like I'd be taking this "hobby" way too seriously.
I don't think they have to be serious or that going to one is taking it too seriously! Some "camps" are really just organized group runs (e.g. Western States Memorial Weekend training camp). If you're looking to get top coaching, the Koop/CTS one that I linked to is really good.
This sounds like an incredible camp experience! I have been hesitant to explore training camps as a slower runner but this one seems more inclusive which is great. And I always love Sedona running — very jealous that you got to experience it in the snow as I have wanted to do that but haven’t gotten the chance yet!
Loved this. Some really good reminders for my 58 year old self! It also reminds me that your fitness goes back many years and the cumulative consistency cannot be overstated. You should feel lots of confidence going into Hardrock.
Sarah, your writing is so vivid that I can feel all your feels! So glad the injury is finally healed. I love when you told your watch “you can’t measure joy”!

Thanks for reading! They’re opening registration for an October camp in Santa Fe soon.
