Congratulations first of all!! Yes, I have read Nestor's book and after reading it, I adopted a slightly slower inhale and exhale when my heart rate gets high or going up hills. Controlling the exhale on the uphills just even a second longer tricks my body into that 'carbon dioxide state' which makes my inhales become twice as deep. I almost feel high when getting into the rhythm of it, it's exhilarating and my stamina seems to double. Btw, Anatomy of an aid station was a great read! It made me laugh because it reminded me of going over to friends houses as a kid and looking inside their fridges to get a snap shot of what kind of house hold it was, lol . Great article.
Great job Sarah! I too like the book!
This reminds me to get back into taping my mouth shut. Thank you!
I thought of your breathing post as I wrote this! Do you think your mouth taping helped long term?
I do, I noticeably sleep with my mouth shut more. But I think practicing helps.
