Been wanting to add track workouts to my ultra training! Thanks for the reminder. any favorite ones???

In addition to the ladder workout described, I always like 1200 (3 lap) repeats with one lap recovery, because the 1200 distance is faster than a mile but not quite as intense as 800s or 400s. Do at least 4 for 3 miles total fast ( I try to have the fast intervals add up to at least 3 miles).

Also, a 3200 (8 lap) at tempo pace for a solid warmup, then 2x 800 at as close to max effort as possible. It’s easier to run a fast 800 if you know you only have to do 2 of them!

There are endless variations :-)

Sounds like a great vacation. Lovely spot. Thanks for the training reminder. In a moment of weakness i signed up for the 5k the day before the 1/2. I know both of these distances are probably short for you, but 5k is really short for me. Guess i should give it some practice runs.
