Thank you for taking the time to read this. With so much media competing for our attention, I’m honored you subscribe to my weekly posts.
When I started this newsletter over a year and a half ago, as a fresh way to blog and tell stories, I had no expectations for how the audience would grow. I just wanted to share advice and insights about running and living in the mountains while navigating midlife, as well as motivate myself to write weekly.
I’m deeply grateful that some 1600 readers have subscribed for the free weekly newsletter, and of those, more than 70 signed on to support my writing with a paid subscription.
Along the way, something special developed that I would like to nurture. A community sprung up through the comment threads and through the monthly Zoom I host for paid subscribers. I’ve gotten to know many of you, and you’ve enlightened me with your feedback, your own Substacks, and the links and personal anecdotes you share.
With that in mind, I’m taking advantage of a program Substack started to encourage readers to share the newsletter with someone else. I hope it’ll prompt you to earn a complimentary paid subscription so you can receive bonus posts and join the monthly online meetup. Paid subscribers also are invited to schedule a one-on-one call with me if there’s some aspect of training or wellness you’d like to discuss.
Here’s how it works:
Share this newsletter with the button below, or anytime I embed a “share” link in a post. Simply send the link in a text, email, or share it on social media with friends.
When friends use your referral link to subscribe (free or paid), you’ll receive a comp for a paid subscription (which normally costs $6/month or $60/year). 3 referrals earns a one-month comp, 5 referrals earns a three-month comp, and 25 referrals earns a full year’s paid subscription.
If you’re already a paid subscriber (thank you!) and you share the newsletter, you can earn another paid subscription to give to someone else as a gift.
Thank you for helping get the word out about Colorado Mountain Running & Living!
Our next Zoom for paid subscribers will be Thursday, July 20, at 5 p.m. Mountain time, and I’ll have a special guest who I’m writing about next week. As for bonus posts, the one I’m working on now has to do with social media, and I’ll share my two most embarrassing social media snafus.
I’m off to Silverton for the weekend to run the Silverton Alpine Marathon/Kendall Mountain 12M double. If you’re there for that event or for next weekend’s Hardrock, please let me know in the comments below, and perhaps we can connect!
I’ll end with a photo of Dakota and Daisy on a river walk last night. I took them there to romp and cool off. Stay safe in this heat and hydrate!
